Former Speaker of the House Newt
Gingrich, who travels the country talking about
ways to fix the nation’s broken healthcare system, was
the featured speaker at the December 4 Cornerstone New Jersey
program at the Trenton Marriott at
Lafayette Yard.
At the event, Newt clearly
and comprehensively described the problems with our current
healthcare system, explained why it cannot continue to stagger
along, and most importantly, offered his own ideas about how to
transform healthcare delivery into a 21st century system that
saves lives and money.
To foster such change, Newt launched the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Health
Transformation. His ideas are featured in his book, Saving
Lives & Saving Money, which describes best practices
for a healthcare system that is centered on the individual,
prevention focused, knowledge intense and innovation rich.
Following his presentation,
Newt rolled up his sleeves for two hours with Cornerstone
members and other
invited New Jersey government, education, business and
healthcare leaders, to discuss the topic and explore how to
apply what they learned to New Jersey.
